Only after 3 days of reporting the T-Mobile G1 Jailbreak Google Android dev team is starting to push out the RC30 update this evening to remove this exploit. So if you own one, expect to receive it automatically in the next 3 days. To soften the blow of this news Saurik, aka Jay Freeman reported everything you typed on the phone was being run through the local shell whether you typed it while the browser was up, or while PTerminal was up. That’s a security hole worth patching up!
Official Statement:
We’ve been notified of this issue (Jailbreaking of Android) and have developed a fix. We’re currently working with our partners to push the fix out and updating the open source code base to reflect these changes.
